We have brought in more than 100 children to NE Ohio for heart surgeries. Through our focus on outbound surgical teams teaching training and equipping local medical teams within the developing countries we estimate over 4000 children by Gift of Life North East Ohio. More than 46,000 have been served by all the 84 Gift of Life Programs around the world.

Yes. Gift of Life International and our affiliated charters are second only to Polio in securing matching funds from The Rotary Foundation. The Rotary Foundation is rated four stars, the top rating offered by Charity Navigator.

All Rotary clubs are encouraged to become involved in international projects as part of the Rotary motto of “Service Above Self”. We raise funds from various Rotary Clubs around North East Ohio as well as numerous corporate and individuals, many of whom have experienced congenital heart disease within their own family. Almost every project we take on we have partners and seek Rotary International matching grants to support our missions. We try to leverage each dollar 4 to 1 through partners and grants. Each grant may have 10 or 12 partners including Rotary Clubs from developed and developing world, other Gift of Life Chapters and individuals. Donations range from a few hundred dollars to $15,000. We have been fortunate to have established a Legacy Account that allows us to act quickly to commit to a need even before we have solidified all our funding sources.

+/-98%. We are totally run by volunteers including our accounting and tax filing responsibilities. A very small amount of our funds goes towards limited marketing materials. Though GoL International has a few paid staff members, Gift of Life North East Ohio is all volunteer.
